Dad had his first visitor today. Les, my Dads oldest friend, who has been trying to visit all week but has been evaded by temperatures and swines. Instead of telling us he was coming, he suprised Dad during visiting hours today, so that he would not be jinxed!
Dad was very pleased to see Les. We left them alone to have a catch up! It must have been nice for him to have some new gossip, as Louise, Mum and I have run out of things to tell him this week. We are very boring people!!
Dads spirits are not great this week after the infection and all the fuss. However, he has started breathing off the vent again.
I read Dad the Sunday paper today (unfortunatly not the style section or culture) but the main paper and the buisness! He likes to know what is going on in the world outside the hospital.
Hopefully now that the infection is on its way out, his mood will begin to improve.

Hi, It was fantastic to see your dad today. Whilst he was clearly exhausted from the effects of the infection his attitude was very upbeat, and I know that he is as determined as ever to continue making progress. Thanks for letting me share some time with him, and I look forward to seeing him again soon for some male banter! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are all glad things are heading in the right direction. The SHC had a field meet here today, as it happens at the same place that Colin is standing in the picture to the left of this post. Colin missed nothing, it was lashing with rain and blowing a gale, birds got soaked, dogs got soaked, I got soaked. Please tell Colin the Burn boys from Newcastle send their heartfelt regards and hope he improves quickly. Jacky and my girls send thier love. Andrew.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Colin is feeling better and receiving visitors. In Tampa it's great to be able to keep up with his progress on the blog - thank you for doing it. He is in our thoughts and prayers every day and we know he will prevail. Janice.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased Colin is over his virus and getting back on track. Onwards and upwards! Missing the opportunity to catch up with him at work (which is usually in the form of some kind of drama from me, offset by a very calm and controlled Colin!!). He is very lucky to have 'his girls' there for him - thanks for keeping us up to date on how he is doing, Sandra
